15 Silver Fishies

15 Silver Fishies is a short visual poem created in the form of a zine, that recounts the tale of the Palla, the fish bearing the blessings of the saint Khwaja Khizr. Once upon a time, it is told that the Palla used to travel from the shores of the Indus Delta, all the way up to the Himalayas, and as it crossed past the shrine of its benefactor at Sukkur, it changed form into the rainbow fish of legends, shining like the sun on the earth as it swam without restraint up the fast moving waters to the mountains that reached the skies. Today though, with constructions on the Indus having blocked and parcelled the river into segmented sectors, the journey of the iconic fish of the Indus is halted at Kotri, separated from its beloved and the colours remaining muddy, if found at all.

Drawing inspiration from the static form of miniature paintings, combining it with the pixel art inspired off 80s visual novels, the zine is made in the rainbow colours that the Palla of legend ought to have been reflecting.
