thread.kill();

In a virtual space, the boundaries between realities and non-realities, that which exists and that which does not, are often separated merely by the difference of words and numbers. Through chains of text and numbers, spaces are created that can mimic reality. These spaces, much like those in reality, can be considered a sort of living form, growing with time through interactions with the inhabitants and generating offshoots in it’s own unique image. Left running unchecked, they can multiply and take over the original space, causing them to be declared malicious forms to be eliminated.

Combining the traditional form art of miniature painting with strings of code – this work sought to explore the phenomena of life in virtual space and how it mirrors the processing of information we receive in reality. A single string of coding can birth a new space; a single word can change our perception of a space. When events we unintentionally create ourselves start running out of control, there might be no other option than to kill the thread.
